Delete your Evaré account

You can delete your Evaré account and the information that comes with it at any time. Here is how, and exactly what happens.

In the app (the quickest way)

  1. Open Evaré and sign in.
  2. Go to Account, then Delete account.
  3. If you like, download a copy of your memories first (Download a copy of your data).
  4. Enter your password, type DELETE and tap Schedule deletion.

If you own a vault that other people are part of, the app will first ask you to hand it over to another member or delete it, so nobody loses a shared vault by surprise.

Without the app

If you can’t open the app, email us from the address you use for Evaré and ask us to delete your account. For your security we may ask you to confirm the request before we act on it. We will confirm when it’s done, within one month at the latest.

What happens next

  • 30 days to change your mind. Deletion is scheduled for 30 days. Sign in during that time and you can keep your account.
  • Then it’s deleted. Your account, email address, password, name and profile photo, the vaults you own, and every memory in them (photos, videos, voice notes, writing, letters, time capsules, comments and hearts) are permanently deleted, along with your drafts, devices and saved Shop designs.
  • Backups. Our backups are kept for 7 days, so deleted information can remain in a backup for up to a week before it is gone for good.
  • Memories in other people’s vaults. Memories and comments you added to vaults owned by someone else stay in those vaults under your name, without your picture or a profile link, because they are part of that family’s keepsake. If you would like any of them removed, email us and we will remove them.
  • Emails with us. If you contacted support, we may keep those emails for as long as needed to deal with your request and for our records, then delete them.

Delete some things, keep your account

You don’t have to delete your whole account to remove something. You can delete any memory or vault you own in the app; it stays in Recently Deleted for 30 days in case you change your mind, then it is permanently deleted. You can also remove your profile photo in Account at any time.
